The AL East is loaded with talent but it’s hard to see how the Yankees don’t win 100 games. The Red Sox have the goods but need consistent hitting and for the pitching staff to realize its potential. The Rays have the nucleus of a good team but don’t have the pitching and hitting that the Yankees and Red Sox bring to the table. The Orioles always seem to be a year away from blooming into a contender but simply give no indication that management is willing to spend the money needed to compete in the division. The Blue Jays appear to me to be deliberately using this as a rebuilding season and a chance to save some payroll money.
