The Coddling of Randy Moss

First Bill Belichick and Tom Brady. Now owner Robert Kraft.

My, the stranglehold Randy Moss has on the New England Patriots organization is tight.

Though the rest of the world can see as clear as day that Moss has been throwing in the towel during games for the past few weeks, the elite members of the New England Patriots see it differently.

Kraft went as far as to call the criticism off moss “unfair.” Brady praised his leadership. Belichick praised his ability.

Then again, the only people who have analyzed this situation correctly are members of the media and Chris Gamble of the Carolina Panthers who said to the Boston Globe, “”We knew he was going to shut it down. He’d just give up a lot, slow down, he’s not going deep, not trying to run a route. You can tell [by his] body language.”

No matter how revealing actually watching the replays over and over can be, even ESPN Meril Hoge looks to be watching Moss with a blindfold on. While I usually respect and enjoy Hoge’s opinions and work…. not so much this time.

In today’s NFL, so long as you can help your team from time to time, it’s apparent you can do whatever you want… especially if you’re 6′-4″, 220 lbs, and have hands of glue —and even if you come with a defective on/off switch.
