Week 6 Fantasy Preview
If you were listening on air you would have heard me call for people to pick up Jeremy Maclin and start him. What a pick up that was if you did it. That being said last week was hit or miss for me. You win some you lose some. Anyone can tell you to play Peyton Manning, but if you need to be aggressive and win keep checking me out!!!! Here we go for this week
START
QB
Jake DelHomme- I know the guy has looked horrible some weeks, but he is playing against Tampa and I am riding that pony all year long. I might even play Jamarcus Russel against Tampa. Just Kidding- but I am going against that pass D as much as possible. Play the man!
Kyle Orton- You know I like the guy and called him one of my sleepers starting the year. He may not be top 5 but he is a solid producer and it looks like Brandon Marshall is getting on the same page. Once Eddie Royal starts to kick in the passing game might be unstoppable. San Diego’s Defense is good, but not too good to play him against.
Marc Sanchez- He has been up and down and this week he will be up. Buffalo is bad and he will put up some decent numbers. Not a lock and a clear 3 of the 3 I have here, but if you need someone this week he isn’t bad.
RB
Knowshon Moreno- Buckhalter looked good but he is banged up and giving Moreno the chance to entrench himself in the number one spot. He catches the ball out of the backfield and can get the tough yards as well. Long term I love the kid but even in the short term he is a solid play this week.
Sammy Morris- With Fred Taylor hurt Sammy will get the bulk of the play. Maroney has been a huge disappointment for them and may get a shot, but Morris is a proven pro and we know that always works for New England. They’ve signed Junior Seau every year out of retirement for christ’s sake!!!
Brandon Jacobs- They seem to be rotating every week and Bradshaw had the big week last week. The Saints aren’t a powerhouse on D and the G-Men are going to have to run the ball to keep Brees and the boys of the field.
WR
Steve Smith (NYG) Remember when you didn’t have to put the NYG because you knew if you were using Steve Smith it was the Panther cause the only one was not getting on the field. Times have changed and This Steve Smith has established himself as one of the up and coming wide receivers in this league. The Saints give up points and the Giants will have to score a bunch to stay in the game.
Torry Holt- I think he is close to dead to be honest but this is a funny game with two bad teams and things have a way of working out when you have a legend like Holt going up against his old team. Holt will have a good game coming back against the Rams.(Plus the Rams SUCK!)
Nate Burleson- He has maintained some solid numbers this year. He has always had the talent he could just never stay on the field. Hasselback makes this team so much better and I think they will have a good offensive game this week.
TE
Brent Celek- He is my main man and quickly establishing himself as an elite TE in the game. Maclin had his day last week and this will be Celek’s week. The Raiders LB’s are beat up and Brent will take advantage of that.
Chris Cooley- Remember that guy??? He will make a splash this week against the Chiefs and put up some of those numbers he put up last year and the year before.
SIT EM
QB
David Garrard- I know he’s not a huge name but don’t get fooled by some of the hollow numbers he has been putting up. The Ravens are not the same D they were when they won the Lombardi Trophy but they are coming off a horrible beating by the Bengals (not the Bungles anymore). Find a better option!
Trent Edwards- There are a bunch of good guys out there and I gotta pick 3 and Edwards is a huge disappointment this year. The new kid on the block is already on hi sway out and Lee Evans is non-existent.
Jason Campbell- The Chiefs record is bad but they don’t look horrible. Dallas needed two miracle plays to win and I think Dallas and Washington are about the same. Portis may run and Cooley catch some passes but I don’t fear the Washington passing game at all!
RB
Fred Jackson- If you’re in a PPR league I may have a different opinion, but if not I sit the guy. Lynch is the man in Buff and that’s just the way it is.
LaDanian Tomlinson- Don’t let the bye week fool you into playing the guy. You know my rule. You gotta show me for at least a week before I buy in. Maybe next week LT but for now you’re ridin the pine!!!
Willie Parker- See above! I am still not a believer but with Moore and Mendenhall playing it makes it even more shaky to play the guy.
WR
Calvin Johnson- He’s hurt and I don’t know right now if he’ll play. Hammy’s scare the crap out of me, especially with a WR. If your back up is Kevin Curtis I play Johnson or find a waiver wire move!!!
Jeremy Maclin- Don’t let one week fool you. They Birds will go to Celek And DeSean this week to keep putting stuff on film for the NFC East to look at. I wouldn’t be shocked if maclin goes 3 for 40 yds this week.
TO- Revis shuts down the number one anyway and really TO has done nothing this year to be excited about anyway. I may sit him regardless but Revis is a top 3 corner in the league.
TE
This is a waste! You know which TE’s to sit!!!
Waiver Wire Moves
Short Term-
QB- I like the Johnson Kid from Tampa. Yeah he threw 3 picks last week but he’ll learn He showed he’s got some skill and if you’re in a bind he’s who I’d go with. He has 2 good WR’s when they decide to play!
RB- Sammy Morris- NE runs the ball more than any other team in the NFL when they’re in the red zone. Kevin Faulk ain’t goin in from there and Maroney is one hit away from his monthly time off. Morris is the guy there short and long term.
WR- Austin Collie- Don’t fall for Maclin or Austin- Collie is the pick. Manning loves his number 2 guy and we already see he trusts the kid!!
TE- Jermichael Finley- I think he will be getting some dump offs and looks like he is getting his little niche out on the Frozen Tundra.
Long Term
QB- Derek Anderson- I know he only completed 2 passes last week and they traded away his weapon but I still think when all is said and done he will put up numbers this year.
RB- Moris
WR- Kenny Britt- He isn’t a household name but he will be. He is establishing himself as the number one in Tennesse.
THIS WEEK’S SUICIDE TEAM
QB- Big Ben
RB- Steven Jackson, Cedric Benson
WR- Donald Driver, Nate Burleson
TE- Jeremy SHockey
K- Mason Crosby
