It wasn’t long ago when the Red Zone, was considered the Gold Zone in San Diego. Anytime we got in to that area we would capitalize with Ladainian Tomlinson flying through the air and landing on the other side of the pile. We also used to be amazing in our 3rd Down conversions. LT would get the ball around the goal line and we would dare the other team to try and stop it. Antonio Gates would catch every 3rd down ball and we would dare people to stop us. That swagger is not there. The supposed Offensive genius chooses to run Darren Sproles up the middle on a 3rd and Goal situation!
Head Coach Norv Turner has continued a downward spiral of his football team since grabbing the reigns a few years ago. Last season, the Chargers finished with an 8-8 record and this season, the Chargers have yet to look good. There are 11 games left and he is on the hot seat! The AFC West is being run by the Broncos and they look to be legit. The Chargers have the components on the team and just are not playing up to their abilities. This falls on the head coach!
How can a team this talented offensively, not score on the opening drive for their last 20+ regular season games? How do you start off every season sluggishly? The Chargers should not make a move during the season, because there are 11 games left to play, and there is definitely a chance to get into the playoffs and make some noise. AJ Smith should just tell Norv that if he doesn’t get to the AFC Championship game, he can just leave the locker room.
Who should be the next head coach? I almost can guarantee it will not be another big name. AJ needs to swallow some of his pride in order to make this happen. We will see how the season progresses and then see what’s available!

Getting rid of Schottenheimer in favor of Turner was a huge mistake.
This should be a Super Bowl-caliber team, and they’ll be lucky to make it to 9-7.
Turner is a fine coordinator but a disaster as a Head Coach.
A.J. Smith is beginning to look like Al Davis Jr. If Jerry Jones can handle Parcells for a few years, Smith should’ve been able to handle Marty.
